Embassytown

On the planet Arieka, the human colony of Embassytown coexists with the indigenous Hosts, whose unique language allows no lies or metaphors. Humans communicate with them using twin Ambassadors who speak in unison to reach the aliens' dual-organ consciousness. The arrival of a new Ambassador with an unconventional voice triggers a catastrophic linguistic and social revolution.
